Player Supports Local Health Care
Andy
McDonald of the Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks appeared with
the Cup in the West Middlesex Memorial Centre on Aug 11th, 2007.
Along with the opportunity to view the cup, Andy donated a number
of hockey jerseys and game-used autographed sticks for a special
hockey raffle with proceeds to support the CT scanner:
• Two Andy McDonald Jerseys (autographed by Anaheim Ducks)
• Don VanMassenhoven Referee Jersey
• Four NHL Game Used Autographed Sticks (autographed by Andy
McDonald, Brian Campbell, Jason Williams, and Corey Perry)
“I am very excited to be able to share the Cup with my hometown.
It is important to me to give back to my community in a meaningful
way, a way that will benefit the entire community,” said McDonald.
Tickets sold for $5 each or 5 for $20. The draw was held on Aug
11th at the Derby Inn, in downtown Strathroy.
McDonald played Junior B hockey for the Strathroy rockets. In 1994-1995,
he was named the Rockets MVP. After being spotted playing in the
Western Ontario Junior Hockey League, Andy attended Colgate University,
graduating with a degree in International Relations.
