Nurses are part of a team that holds a hospital together, linking doctor to patient and patient to frontline care. Nationwide, however, Canada faces a nursing shortage. It’s especially acute in rural settings, where hospitals must work hard to attract and retain outstanding nurses.
In this climate, we want to be certain that nurses see Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital as a great place to work. We can do this by providing them with the best available tools and technologies, along with access to continuing professional education.
We want to do all this, of course, while maintaining SMGH’s hometown touch. In the words of one nurse, “We genuinely care about our patients when they’re here, but also when they’re home. At some larger hospitals, you’re just a number. Here, you’re our neighbour.”
Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Mission: To provide the healthcare we would expect for our own families.
