A paid parking system is being implementing at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital as of July 1, 2008. Visitors to the hospital needing to park can pay for their parking by using a solar-powered ‘pay and display' parking system.
Parking rates will be $5/day or $2/1 hour for visitors.
Revenue will support high priority patient care needs including site equipment purchases and renovation/building projects. Revenue will also be put aside in a reserve fund to cover the costs of needed improvements and upkeep of the parking lots including snow removal, maintenance, etc.
