“In the laboratory, several years ago, we had to eliminate staff professional training. While I understood the budget pressures, I thought it unfortunate, because if you don’t invest in staff, over time, you lose skill and productivity. So I thought, while I’m working, I can afford to fund the department’s professional development. After I retire, my wife and I have created the P.C. Raju and Jyoti Shah Fund to make sure laboratory staff can continue advanced training.
