Pink Pumpkins, Generous Hearts

SMGH Foundation staff and volunteers paint pumpkins pink in support of the Pink Pumpkin Fundraiser at Geerlinks Home Hardware in Parkhill.

A little paint, plenty of laughter and a community ready to give back made the Pink Pumpkin Fundraiser a colourful success!

Geerlinks Home Hardware in Parkhill donated proceeds from its pink pumpkin sales to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation in support of SMGH’s Breast Assessment Program. Beginning October 2, the fundraiser raised over $500—with almost every pumpkin sold in a single weekend!

Behind those pink pumpkins was a fun afternoon of painting as Foundation staff and volunteers rolled up their sleeves and put their creativity to work. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together for a shared purpose: supporting breast assessment services close to home.

Our heartfelt thanks to Geerlinks Home Hardware for choosing SMGH Foundation and turning a seasonal favourite into meaningful support for local healthcare. Thank you also to everyone who purchased a pumpkin and to the staff and volunteers who helped bring this initiative to life.
