The 27th Annual MHA–SMGH Foundation Annual Golf Classic was a day to remember, filled with sunshine, smiles, and an incredible sense of community. From the first tee-off to the final putt, 117 golfers enjoyed a memorable day of camaraderie, friendly rivalry and fun both on and off the course.
A big congratulations to all our hole and putting contest winners, lucky prize draw recipients, and our Par-Tee Cart Raffle champion who rolled away with a wheelbarrow loaded with enough refreshments to make the neighbours suddenly very interested in becoming friends!
Our on-course winners were as follows:
Longest Drive:
Men: Luc MacDonald
Women: Lindsey Barclay
Closest to Pin
Men: Ryan Whitney
Women: Jane McKinnon
Winning Team:
Brad Boyd, Dan Boyd, Marty Timmers, Keith McCormack
Putting Contest Winner:
Feris Elejel
Par-Tee Cart Raffle Winner:

A huge shout-out to our amazing sponsors for making this day possible. Extra cheers to our sponsors:
Behind the scenes, our volunteers and the SMGH Foundation staff team worked tirelessly to make sure everything ran smoothly, creating a welcoming, seamless, and joy-filled experience for every golfer. Our team recovered a pair of sunglasses and a golf glove following the tournament. If either of these items belongs to you, please reach out to us — we’d be happy to reunite them with their rightful owner(s).
This year’s event was dedicated to honouring Dr. Sanders and the outstanding contributions he made to the hospital and to the wider community. It was a privilege to welcome his family to the course and to our evening dinner, where we came together to celebrate and recognize his lasting impact and legacy of care.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Golf Tournament such a success. Together, through registration, sponsorship, fundraising activities, and generous donations received so far, we raised more than $41,000 — over 43% of the cost of a new PFT Machine for Ambulatory Care.
A Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) machine is an essential tool for diagnosing and managing respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD. By providing timely, accurate testing close to home, this equipment will help to ensure patients receive the care they need without having to travel outside the community, improving access to quality respiratory care for our region.
What a memorable day! We invite you to view the event photos and relive some of the smiles, swings, and special moments from the course.
We usually showcase event photos during dinner following the tournament; however, due to a technical challenge, we were unable to do so this year. We are pleased to share them here instead, and extend a very special thank you to Keith Blackwell Photography for generously supporting the event and providing such a quick turnaround so our golfers, guests, sponsors, and supporters can enjoy these wonderful memories.
To learn more about the Pulmonary Function Testing machine for Ambulatory Care, or to discuss supporting SMGH’s Greatest Needs, please contact us at info@smghfoundation.com or 519-246-5906.
Golfers, we would love to hear from you! Please take a few moments to complete our short survey and share your feedback so we can continue to improve the Golf Classic experience for next year.
Thank you again for helping us make every swing count in support of exceptional healthcare right here in our community, and for bringing us closer to purchasing a new Pulmonary Function Testing machine for Ambulatory Care.
SAVE THE DATE: Next year's 28TH Annual Golf Classic will take place on Friday, June 11, 2027.
